Our opinion: We LOVE the BumGenius V3. These are one of our best sellers and for good reason! They fit baby from birth through to potty training (with no need for extra sizes or additional waterproof covers). They are slim even on newborns. They are fast drying and very easy to use. As they are used day-in-day-out for 2.5 years it is worth bearing in mind, however, they can be start looking a bit tatty if you’re planning to use them for a second baby. Also because the nappy has an integrated waterproof layer (rather than a seperate cover) the containment is not as good as with a 2-part system; saying this they will not be any worse than disposables!! They are perfect for parent wanting a slim, quick-drying, easy to use nappy.
How the BumGenius V3 works
Using a combination of 3 x 3 poppers and velcro tabs, the bumGenius V3 can be used right through from birth to potty training. Snap the nappy down to the xsmall setting for a newborn and, as baby grows, adjust the popper settings until it’s fully open at the large setting for a toddler.
The waterproof layer (the coloured part) and a layer of soft fleece are sewn together with an opening at one end to form a pocket. This pocket is then stuffed with one of more (extremely quick drying) microfibre inserts. Once the insert is in place, the nappy can be put on baby quickly and easily using the velcro tabs. Practically as easy as a disposable!
Every bumGenius one-size cloth nappy comes with a microfiber insert AND a microfiber nappy doubler. Having the 2 inserts allows for great flexibility in terms of the absorbency of the nappy and the slimness of fit.
